Purpose: For expatriates employed directly by the Nigerian Government.
Eligibility: Must have an official government employment contract.

Requirements

• Official Employment Letter from the government agency.
• Acceptance letter accepting offer of employment
• Formal Application by the employer accepting Immigration Responsibility.
• Valid Passport (not less than 6 months validity).

Steps to Obtain

1. Agency Secures Approval from relevant authorities.
2. Applicant Submits STR Application at Nigerian Embassy with the official letters.
3. Finalize Residence/Work Permit (2 years renewable).

Validity: 90 days from issuance.
Extendable: Not applicable.
Stay duration:  2-year renewable permit upon regularization.
Restrictions: Only employment as Government official.
Family/Group Applications: Family/Dependants to apply for R4B R4C R4D andR4E visa for spouse, children, and aged parents’ subcategories respectively.
