Purpose: For expatriates employed in Nigerian Free Zones (e.g., Lekki Free Trade Zone).
Eligibility: Must have job offer from a recognized Free Zone enterprise.

Requirements

• Valid Passport (not less than 6 months validity).
• Employment contract/Assignment letter from Free Zone Employer.
• Acceptance letter from the employee accepting Immigration Responsibility (IR)
• Clearance letter from Free Zone regulatory Authority
• Educational/Professional Qualifications and Certificates.

Steps to Obtain

1. Employer Obtains Approval from Free Zone authority for employing a foreigner.
2. Applicant Submits STR Application to the Embassy, referencing the Free Zone.
3. Enter Nigeria and finalize residence/work permit with relevant agencies.

Validity: 90 days from issuance.
Extendable: Not Applicable.
Stay duration:  2-year renewable permit upon regularization.
Restrictions: Employment is confined to the Free Zone.
Family/Group Applications: Family/Dependants to apply for R3B–R3E for spouse/children/parents.
